BEC Hosts International Delegation to Exchange Energy and Broadband Expertise

Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) welcomed a delegation from electric cooperatives spanning Zambia, Nigeria, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and The Philippines on March 7 in Boerne, Texas. The gathering, hosted in collaboration with NRECA International, aimed to exchange knowledge on energy conservation via Apolloware technology and explore high-speed broadband internet provision for cooperative members.

NRECA International, affiliated with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), has supported the establishment of over 250 electric utilities and cooperatives in 48 countries since 1962, benefiting over 160 million people worldwide. The delegation attended NRECA's 2024 PowerXchange in San Antonio, an event hosting hundreds of international guests annually.

BEC, renowned for its innovative energy management and community development efforts, is eager to share its expertise globally. Utilizing Apolloware, an advanced energy management platform, BEC has helped members optimize energy usage and reduce costs.

The visit underscores BEC's leadership and commitment to global cooperation in energy and community development. Through collaborative efforts, BEC aims to equip cooperatives worldwide with tools for sustainable development.

Participants discussed energy conservation and broadband provision, highlighting BEC's successful ventures in both areas. Recognizing the importance of connectivity, BEC has prioritized providing high-speed broadband to bridge the digital divide.
