Councilman Courage Proposes Tax Exemptions for San Antonio Childcare Facilities

San Antonio District 9 Councilman John Courage, a former educator, is proposing a Council Consideration Request (CCR) to introduce potential tax exemptions for childcare facilities in the City of San Antonio. These exemptions aim to ease financial pressures on childcare providers and working families while recognizing the crucial role of childcare in supporting families and shaping the future workforce.

If approved, the CCR could enable qualifying childcare facilities to redirect resources toward improving care and education for the children they serve. Councilman Courage believes that by offering tax exemptions, childcare providers can flourish, ultimately benefiting the well-being and development of San Antonio's youth.

District 9 invites childcare providers, early education advocates, and the media to a press conference on Wednesday, March 6, at 10:30 a.m. in Municipal Plaza B Room. The event aims to shed light on this initiative, which aims to create a more accessible and fair childcare system in the city.
