Following an environmental review of the project, the City of Bandera has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment.
On or about June 13th, 2023, the City of Bandera will submit a request to the Texas Department of Agriculture (Department), Office of Rural Affairs for the release of 2022 Community Development Block Grant funds under Section 104(f) of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended, to undertake a project known as 2022 CDBG City of Bandera Water System Improvement Project #CDV21-0395.
The City of Bandera has an aged deteriorating water main along Madrona Lane that results in frequent maintenance issues, water loss, low pressure, and disruptions in service. The existing lines are old, deteriorated, and undersized. The proposed improvements are required to increase pressures for the quality and quantity of water.
The city also needs to maintain regulatory compliance with TCEQ, minimize maintenance and operational costs, and provide a desired level of service.
Water System Improvements:
Install approximately one thousand seven hundred sixty-five linear feet (1,765 l.f.) of water line, fire hydrants, related pavement repair, valves, fittings, and all associated appurtenances, to include administrative services and engineering fees.
Funding:
CDBG – $350,000; Matching funds from the City’s Utility Fund -$17,500.
Total Estimated Project Cost: $367,500.
Project Location: Along Madrona Lane from Old Medina Highway to Old Medina Highway; and along Madrona Lane to the dead end, Bandera, Bandera County, TX.
