Prevent Vehicle Theft and Break-ins:
- Be aware of surroundings, especially in parking lots; avoid using cell phones while walking.
- Park in well-lit areas.
- Remove valuables from vehicles or keep them hidden.
- Lock vehicles after exiting.
Safe Driving:
- Never drink and drive; plan for a sober ride, use public transportation, or rideshare services.
- Stay updated on weather conditions; follow the City on social media or subscribe to text updates for weather-related information.
Prevent Porch Thefts and Home Burglaries:
- Notify a family member or neighbor if expecting package delivery.
- Discreetly dispose of boxes to avoid attracting burglars.
- Avoid displaying holiday gifts or decorations in visible areas.
- Keep doors, windows, and garages locked; maintain exterior lighting.
- Report suspicious activity to SAPD at 207-SAPD or call 911 for immediate threats.
