At the Bandera City Council meeting on October 20, council members made a significant decision by voting to appoint Stan Farmer as the new city administrator.
During the meeting, Mayor Rebeca Gibson expressed her gratitude, saying, "I'd like to thank our interim city administrator for his leadership in this process, city staff for their professionalism, the council for the thoughtfulness and dedication, and the public who joined us in this process and provided valuable feedback. We all look forward to welcoming Mr. Farmer and his family to Bandera, Texas!"
In response, Stan Farmer, the newly appointed city administrator, expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Bandera community, stating, "My wife and I are very excited to join this wonderful community in our beloved Hill Country. I am very excited about the opportunity to serve the residents and businesses of Bandera."
Stan Farmer brings an impressive background to his new role. He holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs and holds certifications as a certified manager, certified planner, and a certified public manager through Texas State University. Farmer is also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, with experience in military intelligence and marksmanship instruction. Originally from San Antonio, he attended the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate.
Stan Farmer is expected to assume his new duties as Bandera's city administrator in early November.
